Berlin, 21 August 2024 – ehotel AG, a leading provider of hotel booking services for business travel, has reached a significant milestone in its sustainability strategy. Back in 2021, ehotel® began working closely with the renowned organisations myclimate and GreenSign to systematically collect relevant data for determining its carbon footprint. This data was comprehensively collected and analysed in 2022. The final analysis is now available and provides a detailed representation of the company’s carbon footprint for 2022. For these efforts and close cooperation, ehotel® has been awarded the prestigious CO2 certificate from myclimate and GreenSign, recognising the company’s outstanding sustainability efforts.
Strategies for CO2 compensation
Based on the comprehensive analysis, ehotel® can now initiate precise CO2 compensation measures to completely neutralise its ecological footprint. This underlines the company’s firm commitment to a sustainable future and its active contribution to global climate protection.

A commitment to the future
The CO2 balance of ehotel® was calculated in accordance with international standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and ISO 14064, taking into account the strict criteria of myclimate and GreenSign. These certificates confirm ehotel®’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and implementing sustainable practices.
myclimate carried out the CO2 footprint analysis and supported ehotel® in implementing reduction measures. GreenSign certified ehotel®’s sustainable practices.
A key component of ehotel®’s climate strategy is offsetting emissions by investing in sustainable projects. This underscores the commitment not only to reducing its own ecological footprint, but also to contributing to sustainable global environmental improvement.
ehotel® has implemented a comprehensive sustainability management system that is fully integrated into all areas of the company. From the use of green electricity to cooperation with climate-neutral suppliers, ehotel® focuses on energy-efficient measures and the efficient use of resources.
ehotel AG also offers tailor-made solutions for sustainable bookings. Meta-search technology enables the visibility of green hotels and promotes environmentally conscious travel, taking into account renowned sustainability certificates. Customers can view the CO2 values of their preferred hotels in ehotel® Analytics and factor them into their booking decisions.
“This certificate is a significant milestone in our sustainability strategy and underlines our ongoing commitment to environmental protection,” says Fritz Zerweck, CEO of ehotel®. “Working with myclimate and GreenSign has provided us with valuable insights into how to achieve our environmental goals.
