Berlin, February 1, 2026 – The reward for outstanding innovative strength: eHotel AG from Berlin was awarded the Top 100 seal 2026. This makes the company one of the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany. At the award ceremony as part of the German Mittelstands-Summit on June 26th in Heidelberg, Christian Wulff will personally congratulate eHotel AG on this success. The former Federal President and Lower Saxony’s Prime Minister accompanies the Top 100 innovation competition as a mentor.
How much working time does the boss reserve for the topic of innovation? How many innovative ideas bring the employees to the table? The scientific selection process of Top 100 revolves around these and other questions: the innovation researcher Prof. Nikolaus Franke and his team are investigating the five categories of “Innovation-promoting top management”, “Innovation climate”, “Innovation processes and organization”, “Outside orientation/open innovation” and “Innovation success”. The basis for this is an online questionnaire that the participating companies fill out beforehand.
EHotel convinced in the selection process and has been able to carry the Top 100 seal since February 1st. The hotel booking platform for business trips is one of the top innovators for the tenth time.
The Berlin company digitizes hotel bookings, billing and purchasing processes for corporate customers worldwide. Innovation is firmly anchored in everyday life: the managing director, Fritz Zerweck, dedicates around half of his working time to strategic innovation projects. New solutions often arise in direct exchange with customers and partners. “Innovation is not created in individual projects, but in daily work. Many improvements come directly from the teams or from discussions with customers. The tenth award confirms that this continuous approach leads to long-term success,” says Fritz Zerweck, CEO of eHotel AG.
A current example is the eHotel® RFP tool. It maps tenders in hotel purchasing completely digitally and reduces manual work steps. Companies thus gain more transparency and save time in the procurement process.
The employees are also actively involved. Last year, around 70 percent of them brought in their own ideas. More than 300 proposals were submitted, a large part of which was implemented. The process improvements have been proven to reduce costs. The project teams work together across locations, including in Berlin, Romania, India and Tunisia.
The top innovators of the current year will meet on June 26, 2026 in the Congress Center Heidelberg for the German SME Summit. There Christian Wulff will congratulate you personally on the success of Top 100.
